RARE Jewellery Design is an Irish, family-run business founded by third-generation jeweller and designer Denise O’Connor.
The RARE style combines traditional and contemporary designs to create unique and bespoke pieces for you. In 1938, Denise’s Grandfather Thomas O’Connor started a small jewellery manufacturing business in Dublin which went on to become one of Ireland’s biggest manufacturers.
Her father Cubby O’Connor, opened his own business in 1987. He went on to specialise in fine diamond and gold jewellery, supplying retail stores all over Ireland, Europe and the United States. The O’Connor name has been synonymous with quality and excellence for many years in Ireland and internationally.
Inspired by her family’s history of jewellery design and creation, Denise, founder of RARE, had a dream to open her own retail jewellery store. This dream came to fruition in 2013 when she opened the doors to RARE Jewellery Design Dublin. Nestled in the heart of the ‘Creative Quarter’ RARE Jewellery Design Dublin is located between the elegant Powerscourt TownHouse and the historic Georges Street Arcade.

Over the years, RARE
has provided apprenticeships with students and amateur goldsmiths who are
looking to further their skills and progress in the jewellery trade.
With the skill level of RARE’s accomplished goldsmiths and the diversity of
work that is supplied, these apprenticeships have proved to be beneficial to
both RARE and trainee goldsmiths
